Sales of Chinese used cars grew by 18%

In 2021, sales of Chinese brands of cars grew the most in the secondary market of our country, the experts of the AUTOSTAT agency found out*. So, for the whole last year, Russians bought 101,000 used Chinese cars. This is 18% higher than in 2020. If we compare this growth in the context of other brands (by country of origin), then sales of used "Japanese" grew by 5%, "Koreans" and "Americans" - by 8%, domestic and European cars - by 10%. It should be noted that the share of "Chinese" in the "secondary" is still very small - only about 2%.

Japanese brands occupy 28% there, Russian - 26%, European - 23%, Korean - 13%, American - more than 8%. Among the Chinese brands, Russians most often choose Chery cars in the secondary market, which account for 29%. The second most popular is Lifan (24%), the third is Great Wall (18%). We also note Geely, the share of which was 16%. For other brands from China, it does not exceed 3%.

The most popular "Chinese" with mileage in 2021 was the Chery Tiggo model with a share of 9.6%. In addition to it, Lifan Solano (share - 7.9%), Lifan X60 (7.9%), Great Wall Hover H3 (7.2%) and Geely Emgrand EC7 (5.6%) also got into the TOP-5. The share of other Chinese models is less than 5%.
