The Ministry of Industry and Trade received two applications for a competition for the production of electric vehicles

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has completed the collection of bids for the conclusion of a special investment contract (SPIC 2.0) for the development and introduction of electric vehicles into production. Two applications were submitted for participation in the competition - from the Lipetsk Motorinvest and the St. Petersburg startup Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus. Under the terms of the competition, they will have to go through several stages of examination.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, one or more applications can be recognized as the best, and the results of the competitive selection will be summed up by March 5th. According to the TASS agency, the Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus Company plans to release an entirely Russian-made EVM Pro electric truck in 2022.

The presentation of the prototype will take place in the first quarter of 2022. The power reserve of the future electric truck EVM Pro weighing 3.5 tons on a single charge will be 300 km. The key features of the car include a Russian power plant, on-board electronics and proprietary software, as well as independent heating of the driver's cab and an electric air conditioner for the summer period of operation. It is clarified that the use of an electric truck is also provided for the urban environment.

At the moment, the manufacturer has completed the design of the plant, which will assemble and produce electric trucks. It is planned that the plant with a capacity of 1 thousand units per a year will be located in Moscow. The volume of investments required for the first stage of development is 1 billion rubles, these are the company's own and borrowed funds. As a part of further work on the optimization of mass production, it is planned to create an Electric Transport Development and Innovation Center at Peter the Great St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University. As for Motorinvest, which produced Chinese Changan crossovers until 2019, Lipetsk plant intends to start the assembly of electric vehicles of the Chinese company Sokon Group, founded in 1986, or rather its subsidiary brand Jinkang, the Drom.ru portal writes, by citing its own sources and customs documentation.

According to unconfirmed reports, Motorinvest plans to produce five different models. In particular, these can be Seres 3 electric crossovers with a length of 4385 mm, for which a range of 405 km is declared according to the NEDC cycle, and SF-5 with a length of 4700 mm, the mileage of which, according to the automaker, is up to 1000 km. Sokon also has other models of electric vehicles, including commercial ones, which can be also localized in Russia. Motorinvest plans to produce 3,000 electric vehicles in 2022 and double their production in 2023.
