In total, for 10 months, sales of cars in our country were 1 million 457.9 thousand units, which is more by 14.1% than in January - October of the last year.



The Russian market of new electric vehicles tripled in 2021


Last year, the residents of the Russian Federation bought 2,254 new electric vehicles, which is 3.1 times higher than in 2020. This was found out by the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", having considered the statistics * of the car market. Agency experts note that sales of electric vehicles in our country have been growing for 5 consecutive years (since 2017). At the same time, they had never even reached the mark of 1,000 units before.

Thus, the result of 2021 is a record one. About a third of the market of new electric cars falls on the Tesla brand - for the last year Russians have become owners of 736 such cars, which is 3.3 times higher than in 2020. Slightly more than a quarter of the total number of purchased electric vehicles are Porsche products (581 units), the figure of which increased 6.4 times. This is followed by another premium brand from Germany - Audi (387 units; growth by 2.9 times). Note also Nissan (131 units; -9%), which also managed to overcome the milestone of 100 new electric cars purchased by residents of the Russian Federation. The results of other participants of this market turned out to be lower than the specified value.

The most popular model among new electric vehicles in 2021 was Porsche Taycan, which sold 581 units. The second place in the model rating was taken by the Tesla Model 3 with 432 units. The third is the Audi e-tron family (387 units). In addition to them, Tesla Model Y and Nissan Leaf (218 and 131 units, respectively) were in the top five of the best-selling purchased new electric cars the last year.
