KAMAZ closed another contract for the supply of electric buses to Moscow

KAMAZ has completed successfully the execution of the next, fourth contract for the supply of a lot of electric buses to the Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise. Under the terms of the agreement concluded at the beginning of 2021, the company delivered 350 KAMAZ-6282 electric buses to Moscow in stages, the press service of the automaker reports.

As before, the contract includes 15-year maintenance of the transferred equipment, which will last until November 30th, 2036. Also this year, for the first time, electric buses were delivered, assembled at the Sokolnichesky car repair and construction plant - the assembly site of KAMAZ in Moscow. The first copies of the Moscow assembly entered the line already in June, two months after the launch of the site. Today, one thousand electric buses run in various districts of Moscow, among which 750 units are manufactured by KAMAZ, and the city authorities intend to continue the purchasing of this innovative vehicle. KAMAZ, in turn, has previously included in the business plan for 2022 the production of 450 electric buses and plans to take a part in a new tender for their supply to Mosgortrans.

In addition, the engineers of the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Center are constantly working to improve the consumer characteristics of the electric bus and have already implemented a number of improvements aimed at improving the quality of service and passenger comfort. Also, the company has developed an articulated model of an electric bus (“accordion”) - at the moment it is undergoing test operation in Moscow on the T34 route. Upon successful completion of the test drive, the city plans to buy such vehicles to serve routes with high passenger traffic.
