The number of issued car loans grew by 11% in 2021

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have already reported on the growth (+3%) of the Russian car market in 2021. At the same time, the purchase of cars on credit is also growing. Thus, according to the data of the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH), 1 million 006.6 thousand loans were issued in our country for the purchase of cars (new and used) the previous year.

This is 11.1% higher than in 2020. Thus, the car loan market in Russia returned to the growth after falling the year before last. He managed not only to overcome the 1 million mark, but also to demonstrate a record figure for the previous 8 years, i.е. since 2014. Meanwhile, a higher result was recorded in 2013 - 1 million 108.8 thousand car loans issued.

As the executive director of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergei Udalov notes, the number of issued car loans increased mainly due to used cars. “At the same time, dealers were interested in sales of more cars on credit to increase their income. Because of this, the number of early repayments has increased,” the expert notes.
