KAMAZ, which delivered 350 KAMAZ-6282 electric buses to Mosgortrans under the fourth contract, plans to produce 450 electric buses in 2022. This was announced by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, by noting that this volume is calculated only on the basis of the needs of Moscow, and various regions show high interest in KAMAZ electric buses.

Among them there are Kazan, Belgorod, Sochi, Sakhalin, St. Petersburg, and some of these cities have already managed to test a new type of transport on city routes in a test mode. The head of KAMAZ also stressed the importance of entering the test stage of a bus and electric bus with a particularly large capacity, 18 meters long. “Moscow is waiting for this particular electric bus, and we hope to present it for test operation in February so that this equipment is already reflected in the next tenders,” Sergei Kogogin shared his plans. According to Sergei Kogogin, today the Arab world is interested in electric buses, and the first step in 2022 will be a series of electric bus tests abroad. Meanwhile, KAMAZ has developed a new electric bus model, the production of which will start this year.

According to Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ, the new model provides for improved batteries with a larger capacity, which help increase the autonomy of the electric bus from 50 to 80 km. “The transition from a diesel heater to only an electric part is in line with the global trend of increasing the environmental friendliness of transport, and we are also moving in this direction,” explained Samat Sattarov. – In addition, we are switching to the climate system of one of the international leaders Thermo King.

We have reduced the acoustic noise in the driver's area by redesigning the power steering system. And, importantly, our new electric bus meets the international safety standard ISO 26262, which in the future opens up foreign markets for us.”
