Toyota Camry regains its title of the best-selling car in the segment D

A curious situation has developed in the D segment of the Russian car market. As the experts of the AUTOSTAT agency found out, Kia K5 model, which was the leader in 2021 in terms of sales volume, lost the palm to the Toyota Camry business sedan a month before its end. Thus, the "Japanese" has every chance to become once again a bestseller in segment D.

Let us remind you that according to the results of 10 months Kia K5 was the best-selling car in this segment in Russia, but November sales changed the alignment in the ranking. So, in the last month of autumn, this "Korean" sold 1,789 new cars (according to the AEB). But Toyota Camry was sold in the amount of 2630 units, which allowed it to become a leader for 11 months: 28,617 sold cars against 28,209 units from Kia K5. As you know, Toyota Camry has long been a bestseller in the D segment of the Russian market, but with the advent of the Kia K5, its positions have been shaken.

In some months, the "Korean" overtook the "Japanese" in sales, for example, in January, March, June, July and August. But in February, April, May, September, October and November, Camry was the leader, which eventually was able to regain the first line. It remains to wait for the results of December and then it will be clear: will Toyota Camry retain its title in the end, or will there be a new bestseller in the D segment? As for other models, the third place is occupied by Hyundai Sonata, the volume of sales of which in January-November was 6465 units.
