Renault Logan received a version on compressed natural gas

Renault Russia has presented a version of the Renault Logan sedan with a gas-cylinder unit, the production of which will be set up in Togliatti in partnership with the ATS group of companies. Customers will be able to order cars at official Renault dealerships in early 2022, according to the press service of the French brand.

The novelty is offered in the Life configuration with an audio system, air conditioning, heated front seats and two airbags. Renault Logan CNG is based on a production model with a 1.6 l (82 hp) engine paired with a manual transmission. The compressed natural gas version allows the usage of two types of fuel: compressed natural gas (methane) and gasoline. For methane, a 90-liter cylinder is provided, which is installed in the luggage compartment. At the same time, the standard 50-liter gas tank has been preserved, that is, the total cruising range on two types of fuel can exceed 1000 km. The engine is started on gasoline, followed by automatic switching to gas.

When the gas runs out, there is an automatic transfer of the engine power supply to petrol. You can also switch the engine from one type of fuel to another by pressing a button on the front panel. Near it there are LEDs indicating the gas supply on board. The main advantages of the CNG version are fuel efficiency and, as a result, a significant reduction in costs for it - up to 3 times when operating on compressed natural gas, as well as an increase in the range. Thus, this version is most in demand by the corporate sector, which is a driver of the transition to natural gas motor fuel (CNG) in order to reduce costs.

The Logan CNG has a full-fledged warranty (three years or 100 thousand km, while there is no need to register the gas equipment in the vehicle's passport.) The novelty has passed all the necessary complex of bench and resource (road) tests.
