The Interdepartmental Commission under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation approved the conclusion of an additional agreement that amends the current special investment contract of Avtotor Holding. The document envisages expanding the range of products manufactured by electric vehicles (with localization of the electric motor, traction battery and inverter) and auto components. It is planned to increase the total volume of investments from 12 billion rubles to 32 billion rubles.

The investor also has the opportunity to include in the SPIC a legal entity that will produce auto components in the Kaliningrad region, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported. “In August 2021, the Concept for the development of production and use of electric road transport in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 was adopted.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia continues to work on spreading the point assessment of localization of production to various technologies for the production of cars, in particular electric vehicles. Both measures create incentives for car manufacturers to localize production and increase investment in our country,” said Alexander Morozov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia.
