90% of sold cars in Moscow have automatic transmission

9 out of 10 cars that are bought by residents of Moscow have an automatic transmission (AT) *. The experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" came to this conclusion, having analyzed the structure of the market of new passenger cars in various regions of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the share of AT in 90% is not yet the maximum indicator in the country. Thus, in the Primorsky Territory, new cars with automatic transmissions account for 91% of the total sales. Thus, Moscow is the second one by this indicator. In the neighboring suburbs of Moscow, the market share of AT is 84%, in St. Petersburg - 83%.

Also in this regard, it is worth noting the Khabarovsk Territory (82%) and Sakhalin (80%). It should be reminded that, in average, in Russia, the share of sales of new passenger cars equipped with an automatic transmission is 66%.

* We include both classic "automatic transmissions" and "robots", variators, etc. to an automatic transmission.
