Moscow allocated 130 million rubles for charging stations for electric vehicles

Moscow authorities have allocated 130 million rubles for the installation of fast charging stations for electric vehicles. It is noted that an important advantage of the new charging stations is the ability to charge an electric vehicle for 20 minutes.

Today, 109 charging stations operate in the capital, among which 42 (about 40%) comply with the new city standard approved by the Moscow Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure. The funds allocated by the decree of the Moscow government will allow the installation of 50 more modern electric power stations by the end of 2022, it is planned to place totally 600 stations by 2023.

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for the last six years, the number of electric vehicles registered in Moscow has grown 8.5 times - from 235 at the end of 2015 to about 2 thousand at the end of 2021. This was largely due to a number of incentive measures for the development of electric transport, adopted by the city government in recent years. In particular, owners of electric vehicles are exempted from paying transport tax. They also have the right to park their vehicles free of charge in paid city parking zones and use city electric stations. In addition, for owners of taxis and car sharing when purchasing an electric car - on credit or leasing - the subsidy is doubled in compare with the subsidy for the purchase of cars with an internal combustion engine.

The concept for the development of production and use of electric road transport in Russia for the period up to 2030, recently adopted by the Russian government, notes that the creation of an extensive network of chargers is a prerequisite for more active use of electric transport. To do this, in the autumn, the government will determine the list of territories where the formation of such infrastructure will begin until 2024. First of all, charging stations will appear in such pilot cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Sevastopol and the cities of Crimea, as well as on the M-4 Don, M-12 Moscow - Kazan "And" Tavrida ". In addition, rules for granting subsidies for the opening of stations will be adopted. By 2030, it is planned to put into operation at least 72 thousand charging stations, among which it will be at least 28 thousand "fast" ones with a capacity of 150 kW.
