In 2023, Hyundai Motor CIS plans to introduce the Genesis electric car (premium Hyundai brand) in the Russian market. This was announced by the managing director of Hyundai Motor CIS, Alexei Kalitsev, without specifying which model in question. In addition, he confirmed that in mid-2022 Hyundai will bring the Ioniq 5 electric car to Russia.
At the moment, Genesis has only one serial electric car - a coupe-like crossover called the GV60, the world premiere of which took place the last summer. It is built on the global modular E-GMP platform, which is also used for the Ioniq 5. The new GV60 has a characteristic profile for electric vehicles: a coupe-like silhouette with a rear spoiler and a long wheelbase with short overhangs create a sporty look. On the body of the GV60, there are practically no stampings and embossed sidewall elements. It is also worth noting the proprietary Quad Lamps headlights and powerful wheel arches. Another design feature of the new GV60 is the distinctive chrome DLO molding that runs along the top edge of the windshield and runs towards the rear spoiler, as if supporting the floating roof and connecting it to the C-pillar in a V-shaped "wedge".
