What are the most common SUV models in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region?

Among the cars of the SUV segment, the most registered in St. Petersburg are Volkswagen Tiguan crossovers, the experts of the AUTOSTAT agency found out. At the same time, in the neighboring Leningrad Region, the domestic 3-door SUV LADA 4x4 (Niva) is the leader by this indicator. According to the agency, as of mid-2021, there were 25.2 thousand "Tiguan" cars in the northern capital. The German model is the most common of all SUVs here.

Its closest pursuers are the Japanese Mitsubishi Outlander and the French Renault Duster (23.7 thousand and 22.9 thousand units, respectively). In addition to them, the TOP-5 also includes the Japanese Nissan Qashqai (19.7 thousand units) and the Korean Hyundai Creta (19.1 thousand units). But in the Leningrad region, the Volkswagen Tiguan is not even one of the five most common SUV models. This rating is topped by the Russian LADA 4x4 with a result of 9.7 thousand units. The second place is occupied by another SUV - Chevrolet Niva (8.7 thousand units). Renault Duster (8.5 thousand units), Mitsubishi Outlander (5.5 thousand units) and Hyundai Creta (5.4 thousand units) are in the TOP-5 of the local SUV fleet, as in St. Petersburg. Interestingly, the most common SUV brand in both regions is not Volkswagen or LADA, but Nissan.
