Haval may abandon the H9 frame SUV

Haval may end the production of the H9 frame SUV as early as the end of 2021. According to the Chinese Cars portal with reference to the Great Wall production plan, the Chinese carmaker may have decided to redirect the production capacity to the production of more popular and expensive Tank 300 and 500 models, abandoning the H9.

There is no official confirmation of this information yet. In China, the H9 frame SUV only experienced an update this summer. The pre-styled H9 SUV is also sold in Russia. Cars for our market are produced at the company's plant in the Tula region. The SUV is available with a 2.0-liter petrol engine producing 218 hp, as well as a 190-horsepower diesel unit of the same displacement. Both engines work with an 8-band "automatic".

Whether the model will continue to be produced in Russia is still unknown. The fact is that not so long ago the Chinese concern Great Wall patented the appearance of a new tank-frame off-road vehicle Tank 300 in Russia. It is possible that this model can replace the H9 in our market. Recall that today the Haval lineup in the Russian market includes the F7 and F7x crossovers, the H9 frame SUV and the new Haval Jolion compact crossover, which are produced at the company's plant in the Tula region. In the next three years, Haval plans to introduce four more new models to the Russian market, including the GWM Poer pickup, which went on sale in June.

According to unofficial data, the next novelty will be the third-generation Haval H6 mid-size crossover, which will occupy a niche between the Haval F7 and H9. Meanwhile, earlier the Haval Company presented to Russian dealers two new off-road vehicles Dargo and WeyTank 300, the production of which, according to sources, is also planned to be set up at the Russian Haval plant.
