Geely intends to sell Lynk & Co cars in Russia

The Chinese holding company Geely has presented a global strategy for Smart Geely 2025, the key point of which is the promotion of Geely cars outside the Middle Kingdom. An important role is given to the joint brand Geely and Volvo - the premium brand Lynk & Co. Within five years, official sales of Lynk & Co will begin in Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. It is not known yet which Lynk & Co models will appear in our country, but, most likely, we are talking about crossovers.

Recall that the Lynk & Co brand was created by Geely and Volvo in 2016 and is aimed at a youth audience. Sales of Lynk & Co cars in China began at the end of 2017, and recently the brand came to Europe, and the emphasis is not on traditional sales, but on the subscription service and car sharing. Today, the Lynk & Co brand is represented in Belgium, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands, and by 2025 other Western European countries, Russia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand will be added to the list. Currently, the Lynk & Co lineup consists of 03 sedan, 02 hatchback, 05 cross-coupe and 01, 06 and 09 crossovers.

All models are created using Volvo technologies, and they have common not only gasoline engines, but also the chassis architecture. Lynk & Co plans to introduce five more new models for the next five years. Expansion to other countries will help Geely more than double sales: the goal by 2025 is to achieve annual sales of 3.65 million vehicles of major brands (Geely, Geometry, Lynk & Co, Zeekr). Geely considers the Russian market to be one of the priorities, where today Geely is one of the three most popular Chinese brands.
