Russians spent 2.3 trillion rubles on the purchase of new cars

According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for 9 months of 2021, Russians spent 2 trillion 291 billion rubles on the purchase of new passenger cars. This is 34% higher than in the same period of the previous year. According to the agency's experts, the growth in the financial capacity of the market is explained by an increase in both the weighted average price and sales of new cars (in January-September).

Most of the money for the reporting period was spent on the purchase of cars of the Korean brand Kia - 261 billion rubles. The second place in this rating is occupied by the Japanese Toyota with a result of 213 billion rubles. Behind it there are two German premium brands - Mercedes-Benz and BMW (RUB 211 billion and RUB 208 billion, respectively). The TOP-5 is finished by the domestic LADA, for the purchase of cars of which the residents of our country spent 204 billion rubles. The indicators of each of the remaining brands were less than 200 billion rubles.

As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the five listed brands accounted for about half (48%) of the financial capacity of the Russian car market in January-September of this year.
