The state of public transport is considered as critical by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation

The state of the rolling stock and public transport infrastructure has reached a critical state due to long-term underinvestment. More than 70% of vehicles, namely buses, trams and trolleybuses, are in operation beyond their regulatory life. Over 80% of the infrastructure is worn out, which leads to an outflow of passengers from public transport and an increase in the use of personal vehicles ... These figures are given in the explanatory note of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation attached to the draft Resolution on the portal of regulatory legal acts.

As the Ministry of Transport explained to Izvestia, the draft of this decree was prepared in order to implement infrastructure projects aimed at the development of urban electric transport, as well as to ensure funding for such initiatives. At the same time, the department remembers that 14.11 billion rubles were allocated from the state budget for the program of updating public transport in the country within the framework of the national project "Safe and High-Quality Roads".

In addition, the regions of the Russian Federation will be provided with budget loans for 500 billion rubles until 2023, some of which provide for the renewal of public transport and the complete modernization of its infrastructure. However, the ministry believes that the needs of the regions are much higher. Of course, in Moscow the situation is completely different ... There are enough resources to develop actively the environmentally friendly transport, renew rolling stock, and many IT innovations are being introduced to improve the quality of passenger service.

P.S. According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" only in the bus fleet of our country 7.5% of vehicles (31 thousand out of 411 thousand units) are at the age of 35 and above.
