Kia will bring EV6 electric crossover to Russia in 2022v

Kia plans to begin the sales in Russia of the Kia EV6 electric crossover, presented in March of this year, in 2022. The details of the introduction of new items to the Russian market, trim levels and technical characteristics will be announced later closer to the date of the start of sales, the press service of the Korean brand reports.

At the first stage, it is planned to start the sales of the Kia EV6 electric crossover in large cities of Russia - Moscow and St. Petersburg - and then gradually expand the presence of this model in other cities of the country. In cooperation with partner-dealers in key cities of Russia, Kia's own charging stations will be created. Kia is also exploring prospects for expanding the brand's electric vehicle offering in Russia in the coming years, and is considering adding the EV6 to the Kia Flex subscription service.

The Kia EV6 electric crossover is the brand's first electric vehicle that was originally developed as a battery electric vehicle (BEV). The model is built on the new E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) platform, which made the Kia EV6 floor completely flat and increased the wheelbase to 2900 mm. The power plant of the Kia EV6 is offered in various configurations. An electric car can be driven to the rear axle or to both axles - respectively, one or two electric engines. The customer can choose a standard storage battery (energy reserve 58 kW / h) or a battery with an increased energy reserve of 77.4 kW / h.

In the European specification, the Kia EV6 with a single-axle drive and battery with an energy reserve of 77.4 kWh has an estimated range of up to 528 km per charge (according to the WLTP method). In the all-wheel drive version, the range is 506 km. In this specification, the EV is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h for 5.2 seconds. With a battery with a power reserve of 58 kWh, the all-wheel drive EV6 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h for 6.2 seconds.
