What electric vehicles do Russians drive? TOP-5 of brands and models

Three quarters of all electric vehicles in Russia belonged to one brand, more precisely, even one model - Nissan Leaf. Such data are contained in the report "Electric cars and hybrids in Russia", prepared by experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT". So, in the middle of this year, there were 12,290 passenger electric vehicles in the Russian vehicle fleet (only pure "electric trains", hybrids were not included in this number).

Among them, 9,273 units are Nissan Leaf electric cars, which is 75.5% of the total. The second place in the brand ranking is taken by Tesla products (951 units), the third - by Mitsubishi (443 units). The five most common "electric brands" in our country also included German premium brands - Porsche (369 units) and Audi (274 units). Thus, these five brands together occupy 92% of the Russian electric car fleet. As for the model rating, after the leader (Nissan Leaf) with a large lag there is another "Japanese" Mitsubishi I-MiEV, with the result of 443 units.

This is followed by the Porsche Taycan (369 units), which appeared in our market in the autumn of 2020, but has already taken the third place in the “electric fleet”. The five most common electric cars in Russia also included two Tesla cars - Model S (356 units) and Model X (307 units).
