    In 2018, sales of new cars in Russia grew by 12.8% in compare with 2017. Both segments - the mass and premium ones - also showed the growth (+ 13.9% and + 7.4%, respectively). Sales of cars of mass brands reached 1 572 246 units in 2018, the share of which is 91.2% of the total sales volume.

The Ukrainian car market showed an increase of 23% in September

In the first month of autumn, the residents of Ukraine bought about 10 thousand new cars. As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted during the preparation of the monthly survey "Market of vehicles in Ukraine", this is 23% higher than in September 2020.

In the brand ranking, Japanese Toyota is leading confidently here; its sales volume was 1570 units the last month (+ 14%). Its share in the September market of Ukraine was 16% - that is, almost every sixth new sold car in the country belonged to this brand. The French brand Renault is the second one with 1,260 units (+ 19%). The third position in the ranking is occupied by the Korean Kia (1000 units), which increased its sales 2.1 times.

Volkswagen and Nissan also got into the TOP-5, but their successes are already much more modest (490 and 450 units, respectively). Despite the numerical brand advantage of Toyota, the most popular car in Ukraine was the Korean model Kia Sportage in the previous month, which Ukrainians purchased in the amount of 770 units. The second most popular place was taken by Toyota RAV4 with 530 units, the third - by Renault Duster (430 units).

Besides them, Renault Sandero (360 units) and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (280 units) also got into the TOP-5 of the model rating. By the results of 9 months, the Ukrainian market demonstrates the growth in compare with the same period in 2020. In January - September, about 79 thousand new passenger cars were bought in the neighboring country, which is 27% higher than a year ago.
