In Russia, queues for cars are sold again

In the conditions of an acute shortage in the Russian car market, cars that are still in stock are being sold at “inflated” prices, and the ordered cars now have to wait for several months. Against this background, a "service" has revived - the sale of a queue for a car, which allows you to buy a car ordered by someone for a certain amount, the portal Wroom.ru writes. For example, an ad on Avito offers a queue for a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV for 100 thousand rubles, which will soon come to the Tyumen dealer of the brand.

This is not a widespread phenomenon, but such offers regularly appear on ad sites and thematic forums. Moreover, a specialized site has already appeared on the Internet, entirely devoted to the purchase and sale of queues for cars. For the opportunity to save time when buying a Kia Rio or Volkswagen Polo, they ask 20-30 thousand rubles. The queue for a Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota RAV4 or Skoda Octavia already costs 50-100 thousand rubles. And a certain Andrey from the Tambov region became the record holder. He ordered himself an Audi A5 Sportback, but he is ready to give this car for 200 thousand rubles.

The car itself, by the way, costs 3.6 million rubles, so the overpayment for a queue will be about 5%. In his announcement, Andrey notes that there are no quotas for ordering such a car now, the model is in short supply, and after the New Year it will cost even more. It seems that both dealer mark-ups and queuing sales will not soon become a thing of the past. “Due to the lack of supply that can cover the demand of the Russian car market, some models have to wait for several months: Skoda and Volkswagen - 5-6 months, imported BMWs - 7 months. Even Hyundai and Kia cars assembled in Russia are not always available in Russia. According to a rough estimate, the rate of contracting and traffic in car dealerships today is 1.5 times higher than current sales. Now everything depends on the assortment, the key problem is the deficit, ”said Denis Reshetnikov, head of the dealership of the Fresh Auto network of car dealerships.

According to Roman Slutsky, General Director of Alarm-Motors Group, the fourth quarter of 2021 will be a disaster for the Russian car market. The prospect of resolving the situation with accessibility is not visible yet: most brands in Russia will still have fewer commercial vehicles than those who want to buy them, even despite the continuing rise in car prices.
