Skoda will reduce the car production, also in Russia

Due to the lack of electronic components, Skoda will reduce significantly or completely stop the production of new cars at its factories in the Czech Republic from October 18th until the end of this year. This was announced by the official representative of the Czech automaker Tomas Kotera, by noting that the global crisis of the lack of electronic components has not bypassed Skoda either.

According to him, the workers of the Czech Skoda factories in the next 2.5 months will focus on completing the assembly of cars located at the warehouse sites of the enterprise. There are about 50 thousand understaffed cars there, the TASS agency writes. Meanwhile, a significant shortage of semiconductors in the global automotive industry affects the work of the Volkswagen Group Rus factories, which produce Volkswagen and Skoda cars for the Russian market.

As the press service of the company told the agency "AUTOSTAT", in connection with the current situation, the volume of production of "Volkswagen Group Rus" in the coming months will be reduced. Nevertheless, the company continues to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will adjust its production schedule depending on the development of events. As soon as the situation with the supply of semiconductors begins to improve, Volkswagen Group Rus will increase the production in order to meet the stable demand for its products.
