The Russian car market, which accelerated its fall in September, dropped to the fourth place in the ranking of the largest car markets in Europe. According to the data obtained by the AUTOSTAT agency in the national associations of European automakers, the UK became the leader in car sales the previous month, where 215,312 cars were sold (-34.4%).

As noted by the British Society of Automobile Manufacturers and Auto Dealers (SMMT), this is the worst result in September since 1998, and the negative dynamics is due to constant disruptions in the supply of new cars due to a lack of semiconductors for their production. Germany took the second place among the largest European car markets with 19,972 cars (-25.7%).

The third result was shown by France - 133,835 cars, which is 20.5% lower than the previous year. If, when considering the European automotive market, we take into account Russia, then our country dropped to the the fourth line of the European rating. According to the Association of European Businesses, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in September were 119,485 units (-22.6%).

Italy still finishes the top five of European leaders, the dealers of which reduced the sales by 32.7% to 105,175 cars. We also add that the Spanish car market fell by 15.7% in September and reached 59,641 cars.
