Preferential car loans will be financed from the budget until 2024

In 2022, the government plans to allocate about 15.2 billion rubles to finance programs of preferential car loans and leasing, follows from the draft federal budget published in the electronic database of the State Duma. The document states that 10.3 billion rubles are planned to be allocated for preferential car loans in 2022, 13.3 billion rubles in 2023, and 13.6 billion rubles in 2024. At the same time, 4.87 billion rubles can be allocated for preferential car leasing in 2022 and 5 billion rubles each in 2023 and 2024.

This year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade allocated 9.5 billion rubles for preferential car loans, and 3.8 billion rubles for leasing, but the funds ran out in February, and the issuance of preferential car loans was stopped. In June, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, explained that the program is not being renewed, since the market is "already overheated" - sales are growing, and some car models are in short supply.

According to him, the issuance of preferential car loans will not be resumed at least until the end of this year. The decision on the timing of the launch of the program in 2022 at the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be made at the end of this year, based on the market situation. Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to issue preferential car loans from 2022 to employees of institutions of the state education system, as well as include electric cars in the program (25% discount).

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia does not exclude that from 2023, preferential car loans will be issued for cars that are more expensive than the 1.5 million rubles, established by the terms of the program.
