Mazda Sollers will double engine production since 2022


The joint venture Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus plans to double the production of engines from 2022, said the main owner of Sollers, Vadim Shvetsov. According to him, the plant produced and delivered 40 thousand engines to the markets of Japan and Australia. As previously reported by AUTOSTAT, the Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus plant in Vladivostok has launched a new workshop for machining the cylinder head (cylinder head) for Mazda SkyActiv-G engines.

Investments in the project were more than 4 billion rubles; the maximum capacity of the line is up to 50 thousand engine parts per a year. As noted, with the launch of a new stage of the engine plant, the level of localization of produced engines has been significantly increased. Recall that in 2018, a plant for the production of Mazda SkyActiv-G gasoline engines that meet the Euro-5 environmental standard was opened in Vladivostok.

The production of engines with a total area of 14 thousand square meters is completely export-oriented; all produced engines are shipped to the car enterprises of Mazda Motor Corp in Japan. By the end of 2020, Mazda Sollers enterprise reached the planned production and supply volumes of engines in the amount of 20 thousand units per year. Let us remind you that Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus is a joint venture between the Russian Sollers Auto and the Japanese Mazda Motor Corporation.

The production of Mazda cars started at the JV site in 2012. The enterprise produces the full-size SUV Mazda CX-9, the crossover Mazda CX-5 and the sedan Mazda 6. The total production volume is over 30 thousand vehicles annually.
