Mercedes-Benz is preparing for sales of electric vehicles in Russia

Mercedes-Benz plans to start the sales of electric vehicles in Russia. Dealers of the Stuttgart brand have already begun to prepare for this: some large showrooms have branded charging stations. The first is the flagship liftback Mercedes-Benz EQS, that is, the electric analogue of the S-class.

The novelty will become available for order at Russian dealers in mid-October, then a price list will appear, and the first lot of cars is expected at the very end of the year. In the Russian market, only the all-wheel drive EQS 580 4Matic (523 hp) with a 107.8 kWh battery will be offered. In Germany, such an electric car costs at least 136 thousand Euros, while for a comparable Mercedes-Benz S 580 4Matic (503 hp) they ask for 126 thousand Euros.

The recently presented junior sedan Mercedes-Benz EQE, that is, an analogue of the traditional E-class, will also appear in Russia. But the set of versions for the Russian market has not been made public yet, because even European dealers are expected to have EQE only in mid-2022, and it will reach our country even later. According to preliminary data, in Germany the basic version of Mercedes-Benz EQE will cost 70-75 thousand Euros. As AUTOSTAT reported earlier, by the end of the current decade, Mercedes-Benz is preparing to switch to electric traction completely wherever market conditions allow.
