Hyundai reduced sales by 19% in Russia in August


Russian Hyundai dealers sold 14,106 vehicles in August, which is 19% lower than a year before. By the results of eight months of 2021, Hyundai sales in our country were 118,559 vehicles (+ 24%). According to the press service of Hyundai Motor CIS, the compact crossover Hyundai Creta became the bestseller of the brand in August with an indicator of 5,502 sold cars (-28%).

It is worth noting that dealers have a new special version of Hyundai Creta of the second generation - Smart, which includes a full set of Smart Sense safety systems. The second most popular sedan is the Hyundai Solaris sedan, sales of which fell by 10% and reached 4,449 vehicles. The fourth generation Hyundai Tucson crossover, which entered the Russian market at the end of May, found 1,584 buyers (-33%) at the end of the previous month.

This is followed by the updated crossover Hyundai Santa Fe, the result of which was 962 sold cars (+ 1%). The top-five of Russian bestsellers of Hyundai is finished by the Sonata business sedan, sales of which fell by 34% down to 703 vehicles. As previously reported by AUTOSTAT, in autumn Russian dealers are expected to have a Staria minivan, which will replace the previous generation of the H-1 model.

In addition, Hyundai will start the sales of electric vehicles in Russia in mid-2022. The first electric Hyundai model on the Russian market will be the Ioniq 5 crossover. The car will be offered only in an all-wheel drive version, while a rear-wheel drive version is available in other markets.
