Sollers intends to produce electric vehicles in Vladivostok

Sollers Auto is preparing to start the production of electric vehicles and batteries for them in Vladivostok, where the company has a joint venture with the Japanese Mazda. This was announced by the main owner of the group, Vadim Shvetsov, noting that the production of electric vehicles is "a good chance for the Far East, because Primorye is the leader by the purchase of electric vehicles now.

"Primorsky territory residents are very fond of electric transport and now they are using it actively, buying used Japanese and Korean cars. We believe that this technology can greatly develop demand and that if we apply the so-called proactive technologies, electric propulsion in the Russian Federation can go from this. Moreover, the government has already adopted a corresponding program (development of electric transport until 2030)," said Vadim Shvetsov.

We will remind, earlier the government of the Russian Federation approved the concept for the development of production and use of electric road transport in Russia for the period up to 2030. The concept is designed in two stages. Based on the results of the first one (until 2024), the basis for the mass production of electric vehicles will be prepared. By 2024, Russia plans to produce at least 25 thousand electric vehicles and open more than 9 thousand charging stations for them. According to the results of the second stage (2025 - 2030), their production should reach 10% of the total production of vehicles in the country.

By 2030, it is planned to commission at least 72 thousand charging stations, among which "fast" ones with a capacity of 150 kW are at least 28 thousand units.
