Volvo will bring two electric crossovers to Russia

Volvo will present the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge electric crossovers in the Russian market. At the beginning of 2022, Volvo XC40 Recharge electric crossovers will appear in the VolvoCarDrive car subscription service. It is the brand's first production electric vehicle to be an all-electric version of the XC40 crossover, which is built on the base of the compact modular architecture of the CMA, an advanced automotive platform developed in partnership with the Geely Group.

The all-wheel drive Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 has a capacity of 408 hp and it is capable of traveling over 400 km on a single charge (WLTP standard). The fast charging system recharges the battery from 0 to 80% for approximately 40 minutes. Later, Volvo will bring another electric crossover to the Russian market - the Volvo C40 Recharge.

This is a coupe-like version of the XC40 model, which has exactly the same units and an increased range on a single charge (420 km). It is worth noting that C40 model is only purely electric: there are no purely gasoline or diesel versions in the range, or even hybrids. There are no other Volvo-branded electric vehicles yet, although there will be six of them by the middle of the decade. So far, Volvo offers only rechargeable hybrids among the electrified models in Russia. These are crossovers Volvo XC60 Recharge (from 6.4 million rubles) and XC90 Recharge (from 7.3 million rubles).
