AVTOVAZ intends to start the production of an electric LADA car in 2027 - 2028

AVTOVAZ may start the production of a LADA car with an electric engine in 2027 - 2028. This was announced by the President of AVTOVAZ, Nicolas Maure, noting that these are the plans, the implementation of which the company will discuss with the government. He also clarified that he is talking about a fundamentally new electric vehicle, not Ellada model. In general, according to the company's plan, 10% of electric vehicles produced in Russia by 2030 will be produced at AVTOVAZ.

We will remind that earlier the government of the Russian Federation approved the concept for the development of production and use of electric road transport in Russia for the period up to 2030. The concept is implemented in two stages. By the results of the first stage (until 2024), the basis for the mass production of electric vehicles will be prepared. By 2024, Russia plans to produce at least 25 thousand electric vehicles and open more than 9 thousand charging stations for them. According to the results of the second stage (2025 - 2030), their production should reach 10% of the total production of vehicles in the country.

By 2030, it is planned to put into operation at least 72 thousand charging stations, among which "fast" ones with a capacity of 150 kW should be at least 28 thousand units. All in all, as expected, during the formation of the new industry, at least 39 thousand highly productive jobs will be created.
