The government adopted a concept for the development of electric transport in Russia

The Government of the Russian Federation has adopted a Concept and a "roadmap" for the development of production and use of electric and hydrogen vehicles in Russia for the period up to 2030. The key target indicators are the launch of the production of cells for traction batteries, cathode and anode materials, as well as the commissioning of at least 72 thousand charging stations, among which at least 28 thousand are fast charging stations, and at least 1000 hydrogen filling stations, according to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

The concept also provides for the creation of at least 39 thousand additional high-performance jobs along the entire technological chain of production of electrochemistry, electromechanics, electronics and the production of electric vehicles. In general, despite the fact that sales of electric vehicles in our country are still insignificant, the demand for them is growing steadily every year, and the choice of models continues to expand. So, if in 2019 there were only 8 models in the line of new electric vehicles offered in Russia, then by the end of 2020 there were already 15, the experts of AUTOSTAT agency calculated. And given the statements made by automakers on plans for 2021, it can be assumed that by the end of this year, this lineup may become even wider.

It is significant that for the last few years, the electric vehicle market in Russia, both primary and secondary, has been showing the growth. So, in 2020, in general, Russians bought 5274 of used and 687 new electric cars, which is 60% and 95%, respectively, higher than a year ago. And in January - May 2021, the residents of our country bought 2,655 used and 650 new electric vehicles. This is 81% and 7 times higher than for five months of the previous year, according to the data of the agency "AUTOSTAT".
