Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Europe have announced a cutback in new vehicle production due to a shortage of semiconductors. The reduction in production volumes will affect plants in Japan, Southeast Asia, Turkey, France and the Czech Republic.

Today, Toyota plant in St. Petersburg is working as usual and its plans for the production of new cars are at the same level, the press service of Toyota Motor reported to AUTOSTAT. “Toyota will do its best to mitigate the negative impact of the semiconductor crisis on vehicle production and keep its sales target for 2021.

As before, we will strive to satisfy the needs of our customers as much as possible, using every opportunity to accelerate the delivery of vehicles at all stages,” informed Toyota Motor. According to the results of the first half of 2021, St. Petersburg Toyota plant produced 39,541 vehicles, which is 29% higher in compare with the same period of the previous year. As noted in Toyota Motor, the positive result is associated as with the dynamics of consumer demand in the current year, so with the lack of production in April 2020 due to the pandemic.
