Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in July fell by 6.5% to 132,640 vehicles. According to the results of seven months of 2021, Russian car market volume was 953,760 cars (+ 28.4%), according to the data of the Association of European Businesses. As noted in the AEB, in July the market is experiencing a slight decline in compare with the previous year.

It can be expected in the coming months due to the limiting effects of global production cuts due to a shortage of electronic components. According to the current forecast of the AEB, by the end of 2021, 1 million 756 thousand passenger cars and light commercial vehicles will be sold in Russia, which means a market growth of 9.8% in compare with the previous year.

Leadership in the Russian car market is held by the LADA brand, the sales of which in July grew by 3% and reached 32,013 cars. The second place in terms of sales volume is kept by Kia - sales of 17071 cars (-5%) provided the Korean brand with the leadership in the foreign car market. The third line is occupied by Hyundai with 13,383 sold cars, which is 7% lower than a year ago. Renault is the next - cars of this brand were chosen by 11,223 buyers (-3%).

Skoda finishes the top-five this time with 7921 sold cars (-36%). The TOP-10 of best-selling brands in July also included Toyota (7908 units, -11%), Volkswagen (7171 units, -33%), GAZ (4640 units, + 29%), Nissan (3599 units), -32%) and Chery (3009 units, an increase of 3.5 times).
