Nissan plant in St. Petersburg will switch to a two-shift operation


St. Petersburg plant Nissan plans to switch to a two-shift work schedule from November 2021. The agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed about it in the press service of Nissan, by adding that since July 12th the enterprise has been working in one shift, 5 days a week, 10 hours every day.

Meanwhile, Nissan plant will suspend vehicle production during its scheduled corporate summer vacation, which runs from July 26th to August 11th this year. During the summer holidays, scheduled work will be carried out to set up and maintain equipment and buildings on the territory of the enterprise. According to the company, the dealers' warehouse stocks allow for uninterrupted sales. According to the results of the first half of 2021, St. Petersburg Nissan plant produced 19,969 cars, which is 25% higher than the previous year.

Currently, the company produces crossovers Nissan Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano. In the first half of 2021, Nissan exported 1,681 Russian-made vehicles (+79%), including 1205 vehicles to Kazakhstan (+90%) and 476 units to Belarus (+57%).
