AVTOVAZ plans to increase a working day in the divisions engaged in vehicle production by 1 hour from 6 September to 31 November. This information was given to AUTOSTAT agency in the press service of the enterprise, with an explanation that the additional working hours of the shifts are associated with the continuing growth of the Russian automobile market and the need to increase the production plan by more than 10%.

Thus, in June AVTOVAZ sold 40,096 LADA vehicles in the Russian market, which is 43% more than a year ago. During six months of 2021, LADA dealers in Russian sold 200,219 vehicles, which is 51% more than for the same period last year. As a result, LADA market share came up to 23% (+2.2% as compared to the first half of 2020), which is the best result for the last 10 years. According to AVTOVAZ President Nicolas Maure, for the rest of the year the sales in the Russian automotive market will largely depend on the supply capacity due to the current global situation with the shortage of electronic components.

“We also see some uncertainty about consumer demand in the fourth quarter, in which we would welcome renewed government support measures. In general, we believe that the results of the year may be even higher than the projected 10% growth as compared to 2020 - the market may exceed 1.8 million vehicles,” said the head of AVTOVAZ.
