GAC unveils the next-gen flagship GS8 crossover


The Chinese company GAC has published the first official photos of the new generation GS8 flagship crossover, the predecessor of which is being sold in Russia. The premiere of the novelty should take place in the near future.

The GAC GS8 of the second generation will be based on the new modular platform GPMA (GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture), thanks to which the length of the car will grow from 4836 mm to 4980 mm, width - from 1910 to 1950 mm, and the size of the wheelbase will increase by 120 mm - to 2920 mm. The GAC GS8 will be available as standard with a third row of seats. A distinctive feature of the novelty will be sophisticated two-level optics with quadruple LED elements.

According to preliminary data, the new GAC GS8 will be equipped with a hybrid power plant developed by Toyota. It will include a 2.0-liter petrol turbocharged "four", an electric engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin. In China, sales of the new generation GAC GS8 will begin this autumn. The first generation GAC GS8 is currently available in the Russian market. Recall that GAC Motor entered the Russian market in December of 2019. Today, its lineup includes the GS8 crossover, the GN8 premium minivan and the GS5 midsize crossover.
