During the preparation of a new marketing report "Preferences in the choice and operation of a car: gender differences" specialists of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" found out what body colors men and women choose when buying a new car. The online survey was conducted in February 2021; more than 7.5 thousand respondents took part in it. Note that the three most popular body colors - white, black and silver - have remained unchanged for many years, regardless of the gender of its future owner.

At the same time, 26.6% of men and 24.3% of women - almost every fourth - voted for the leading white color. Black is also more to the liking of men than women - 21% versus 16.6%. But silver, on the contrary, is more often chosen by women (15.9%) than men (12.7%). The TOP-5 of the most popular colors included gray and blue. At the same time, among women, both colors received an equal number of votes - 10.7% each. But men more often prefer neutral gray (14.1%) than blue (8.3%).

Rarer colors such as brown and green received roughly equal sympathy from both groups: 8% of men and 7.6% of women would choose brown, while 1.7% and 1.8% would choose green. The reaction of the respondents to the color red is interesting. 10.6% of women and only 3.6% of men voted for it. We can say that red cars are considered more "feminine" than cars in any other body color.
