Nicolas Maure returned to the post of President of AVTOVAZ

Nicolas Maure took over as president of AVTOVAZ on June 1st, 2021, replacing Yves Karakatzanis at the head of the enterprise, whose term of office had expired. Nicolas Maure will also retain his position as CEO of Renault Group operations in Russia and the CIS, which he took on May 1st, 2021, the press service of the automaker reported.

From April 2016 to May 2018, Nicolas Maure headed AVTOVAZ as the president and CEO, and in June 2019 took the chair of the chairman of the board of directors of AVTOVAZ. Since January 1st, 2018, he has also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Eurasia Region. In September of 2020, Nicolas Maure was named Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Transformation of the Renault Group. As a reminder, in January 2021, Renault Group, within the framework of the new strategic plan Renaulution, created a new business unit Dacia-LADA, which will strengthen the production synergies between brands through the use of a highly competitive and flexible CMF-B platform.

AVTOVAZ and Dacia will remain separate companies, which together will produce more than 1 million vehicles on the basis of CMF-B annually, by moving from 4 platforms to one and reducing the number of body types from 18 to 11.
