AVTOVAZ revealed details about new LADA models

AVTOVAZ plans to release four new LADA models on the modular platform CMF-B of the Renault-Nissan alliance by 2025. One of them is the new generation LADA Niva, which will be presented in 2024 and will remain a real off-road vehicle thanks to its high ground clearance, an all-wheel drive system and a downshift range.

At the same time, the top manager noted that there is no such off-road unit in the CMF-B platform now, and therefore AVTOVAZ engineering service will have to create it on its own. According to unofficial data, the design of the new "Niva" has already been patented, but AVTOVAZ does not confirm officially this information. As previously reported, the new generation of Niva SUV will receive two versions - with a compact and an extended wheelbase.

The new Niva will be exported and will appear, in particular, in the markets of Europe and Latin America. In 2025, a crossover of the C-SUV segment will appear in the LADA model range, a close relative of which is likely to be Dacia Bigster crossover, whose design was recently patented. The dimensions of the novelty should be comparable to the dimensions of such cars as Hyundai Tucson or KIA Sportage. Two other novelties are the new generations of Granta and Vesta. Moving to the new platform, these models will be able to be equipped with a range of advanced safety and driver assistance systems.

It also became known that new LADA models will receive Russian engines, including the recently updated 1.6-liter 8-valve engine. There will be also 1.6 and 1.8 liter 16-valve petrol engines. Both engines are planned to be modernized in the coming years, also for fitting them for the new CMF-B platform.
