Sber company presented an electric drone of its own design

The Sbera ecosystem company - SberAutoTech - presented a prototype of a fully autonomous electric vehicle of its own design, which was named FLIP. At the moment, SberAutoTech is conducting development tests of the prototype in full compliance with the current legislation for completely unmanned vehicles - only in closed areas, according to the press service of Sber. The FLIP design is based on an electric platform of its own design.

The platform is driven by an electric engine, and the power source is a replaceable battery module. The company's know-how is the layout of the batteries, which allows replacing all modules for no more than five minutes, which is comparable to refueling with traditional fuel in a standard car. This solution actually removes the current restrictions for the use of electric vehicles: long charging of standard batteries and their high cost, dictated by the required capacity and power reserve of electric vehicles.

The FLIP layout allows using not only electricity as energy sources, but also other carriers of alternative fuels, including gas and hydrogen. The platform was originally designed by SberAutoTech taking into account the requirements for connected and unmanned vehicles. The platform underlying FLIP provides maximum layout flexibility and allows any version of the superstructure, cargo or combined, to be marked on the platform.

The external dimensions of the FLIP are the same as those of a standard passenger car (3.62 m by 1.95 m), but the space inside is 40% larger, because the structure does not contain elements that steal the internal volume, which are characteristic of cars with an internal combustion engine. The FLIP was originally designed as a fully autonomous vehicle, with no traditional driver controls. The cabin accommodates comfortably six people.
