AVTOVAZ and NISSAN are searching for a site in the Far East

The collaboration of AVTOVAZ with the alliance Renault � Nissan could be enlarged. The japanese company Nissan is interested in organization of production in the Far East; in September the company intends to start searching for a production site in this region together with AVTOVAZ.
As the newspaper �Vedomosti� informs (referring to its resources), the site could be given by the aviation production association Komsomolskoe � na � Amure (KNAAPA), which exports its production through �Rusoboronexport� (it is a part of state corporation �Rustechnologies� � one of the biggest shareholder of AVTOVAZ). There is a lack of output of war � planes at the enterprise and the project of production Sukhoi Superjet 100 is retarded terms, so the assembly of Nissan cars at KNAAPA really holds much promise. The automotive experts estimate the idea of organization of such production (closer to consumers) as a positive one. After all, the cars of japanese makes are very popular in the Far East. But truly, these are second hand cars, so it will be hard for Nissan to compete with them. According to estimation of the analysts, the capacity of market in the region is nearly 300 thsd cars per year. The possible models are Almera Classic, one of the cheapest cars in the model range of Nissan (costs from 390 thsd rur). To compensate the production, Nissan will have to output not less than 25 thsd cars at big � units assembly and minimum 50 thsd cars at full � scale production.
