The world car market grew by 78% in April

The world car market in April grew by 77.6% to 7 million 010 thousand passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. According to the results of four months of 2021, car sales in the world were 27 million 928 thousand units (+ 32.4%), according to the data of the consulting company LMC Automotive.

China remains the world leader by car sales in the previous month with 2 million 114 thousand cars, 8.4% higher than a year ago. In America, 1 million 535 thousand cars were sold - 2.1 times higher than a year before. Automotive markets in Western Europe in April grew 3.7 times to 1,082 thousand vehicles. Car sales in Eastern Europe were 367.5 thousand units (an increase of 2.9 times). In South America, local dealerships sold 194,000 vehicles, 3.5 times higher than a year ago.

Among the world's largest car markets, it is also worth mentioning Japan (345.1 thousand units, + 29.4%), Canada (157.9 thousand units, an increase of 3.3 times) and Korea (157.7 thousand units, -4.2%).
