Russia will introduce requirements for the share of sales of "green" cars from 2030

Russia intends to abandon gradually cars on fossil fuels and plans to establish requirements for car manufacturers in terms of the share of sales of "green" vehicles running on hydrogen, electricity and gas from 2030, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.

“Thus, our country is fully involved in the green reversal process. To give it an acceleration, we will initiate monetary incentives to abandon the use of energy-intensive technologies and “dirty”, gray resources,” - said the minister, quoted by the TASS agency. At the same time, according to him, the Russian authorities intend to act cautiously, by "balancing environmental issues with the tasks of industrial development."

As reported, the Ministry of Industry and Trade expects that the operation of buses on hydrogen will begin in Russia in 2024. In particular, KAMAZ is developing a hydrogen-fueled bus, and its tests are scheduled to be completed in 2023. Serial production of new items can be launched in the same year, in case of demand and the availability of appropriate charging infrastructure in the country. Meanwhile, as follows from the state program for industrial development until 2030, revised and extended by the government of the Russian Federation, the Russian authorities do not expect a sharp increase in the number of gas or electric vehicles in the next ten years - their share in the country's market by 2030 should be at least 1% and 5%, respectively, unmanned vehicles - at least 2%.

The development strategy of the auto industry, approved in 2018, assumed that the share of electric vehicles would reach 4-5% of sales by 2025. The share of domestic cars in the domestic market by 2030, according to the program, should be 85%, the share of car exports - 25%.
