Purchases of cars by legal entities grew by 9% in the 1st quarter

In January - March of 2021, corporate clients (legal entities) in Russia purchased 55 thousand new passenger cars, which is higher by 9% than a year ago. Such data are provided by experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT".

Experts also noted that the share of legal entities in the 1st quarter of this year was 16% of the total number of purchased cars. At the same time, a year ago this figure was 13.5%. Experts associated the growth in the share of legal entities with the general decline in the passenger car market, which amounted to 8% in three months.

The most popular among corporate clients is the domestic brand LADA, the indicator of which was about 12 thousand units, which is higher by 76% than in the 1st quarter of 2020. The second place is taken by the Japanese Toyota (4.9 thousand units; + 1%), the third - by the French Renault (4.4 thousand units; + 29%). The top five among brands also includes Korean KIA (4.3 thousand units; -12%) and German Volkswagen (4.1 thousand units; -25%).

More than 21% of corporate purchases of new passenger cars in January - March 2021 belonged to Moscow, which corresponds to 11.9 thousand units. About 8% belongs to St. Petersburg (4.3 thousand units), other 6% belongs to the Moscow region (3.4 thousand units). Tatarstan and Krasnodar Territory are also in the TOP-5 regions, the indicator of each of which was 2.2 thousand units.
