Used SUV market in Q1: TOP of brands, models and regions


In January - March 2021, residents of the Russian Federation became the owners of 311 thousand used crossovers and SUVs. As experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the share of the SUV segment accounts for 25% of the total volume of the secondary market.

The Russians give the greatest preference to Toyota products - for three months they bought 32,000 used Japanese brand crossovers and SUVs. The second place is occupied by another Japanese brand - Nissan (28.3 thousand units), the third - by the domestic LADA (27.2 thousand units). But in the model rating, the unconditional leadership is kept by the 3-door SUV LADA 4x4 (or Niva Legend), which from January to March was purchased at the secondary market in the amount of 22.7 thousand units. Chevrolet Niva (19.5 thousand units) and Toyota RAV4 (10.7 thousand units) are the next by popularity.

The volume of purchases of other SUV models with mileage in Q1 was lower than 10 thousand units, and the TOP-10 among them included: Nissan X-Trail, Renault Duster, Nissan Qashqai, Mitsubishi Outlander, Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V and BMW X5. About 14% of the secondary SUV market in the country during the reporting period belonged to Moscow and Moscow region. Other 5% was occupied by St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
