Nicolas Maure will return to the post of President of AVTOVAZ


The board of directors of AVTOVAZ approved the decision to appoint Nicolas Maure to the post of president of the enterprise from June 1st, 2021, when the term of office of Ives Karakatzanis expires. Nicolas Maure will also retain his position as CEO of Renault Group Operations in Russia and the CIS, which he will take on May 1st, 2021.

The new place of work and the position of Ives Karakatzanis, who has been the president of AVTOVAZ since June 1st, 2018, will be announced additionally, according to the press service of AVTOVAZ. Recall that Nicolas Maure headed AVTOVAZ as president and CEO from April 2016 to May 2018 and in June 2019 he became the chairman of the board of directors of AVTOVAZ. Since January 1st, 2018, he has also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Eurasia Region. In September 2020, Nicolas Maure was named Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Transformation of the Renault Group.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in January 2021, Renault Group, within the framework of the new strategic plan Renaulution, created a new business unit Dacia-LADA, which will strengthen the production synergies between brands through the use of a highly competitive and flexible CMF-B platform combined with the highest localization rate. AVTOVAZ and Dacia will remain separate companies with their own history and strategy, which together will produce more than 1 million vehicles annually based on CMF-B, moving from 4 platforms to one and reducing in the number of body types from 18 to 11. By 2025, AVTOVAZ will bring to the market four new LADA models, which will be based on the CMF-B platform.
