From January to March, Russians bought 1,269 new motorcycles, which is lower by 35.3% than in the first quarter of 2020.
Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that the fall in this segment of the market was more and more: in January it fell by 11.6%, in February - by 19.3%, in March - by 43.4%. Probably, the picture will change for the better already in April, as in April of 2020 it was a period when many motorcycle dealerships were closed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, and the market of new motor vehicles then immediately fell by almost a third. In addition, purchases in this segment are seasonal in nature, and spring - summer, as a rule, give a surge in the market.
Agency experts also remind that until 2021 the market of new motorcycles showed the positive dynamics for three consecutive years (2018 - 2020). Moreover, the range of this growth ranged from 25% to 38%.
