    Specialists of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" together with the publishing house "Za Rulem" decided to find out which type of transport was the most often chosen for travel this summer by the inhabitants of our country and what the lovers of the velvet season will choose, whose vacation is scheduled for the end of summer or early autumn.



There are practically no cheap cars at the Russian market

The price segmentation of market of new cars in Russia keeps on moving to the side of more expensive range. Until the middle of 2008 there are practically no cars cheaper than 6 thsd USD and the share of the segment of 6 10 thsd USD reduced until 4, 6%. In total there were sold 190, 7 thsd cars of the price range until 10 thsd USD during six months. The total volume of sales was 1, 42 mln units. These data are given by the specialists of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT in a new marketing report about the prospects of the russian automotive market.
We remind you that only four years ago only 75% of the market accounted for the price segment until 10 thsd USD (in 2004 the total volume of new cars was 1 mln 286 thsd of new cars); 953 thsd cars were sold at price lower than 10 thsd USD. As the director of the agency AUTOSTAT Sergej Tselikov reports, the main role in this process is played by the fast change of structure of the market in favour of foreign cars. Besides, the car manufacturers themselves, who ignore the inflation and see the growing revenues of potential buyers, raise the prices. Another factor, leading to change of price segmentation of the market, is the gradual decrease of rate of dollar.
