What Russians drive? TOP-10 brands of passenger car fleet

There are 45 million passenger cars in Russia (as of January 1, 2021) and more than 30% of them belonged to the domestic brand LADA. Such data are provided by the experts of "AUTOSTAT" agency.

According to the agency, the number of registered LADA cars in Russia is 13.77 million units. The second largest Japanese brand is Toyota, with a 9% share in the fleet (4.07 million units). Two Korean brands are the next in the ranking, which was compiled by experts, Hyundai and KIA, with 2.39 million and 2.33 million units, respectively. Another Japanese brand, Nissan (2.18 million units), entered the top five in terms of this indicator.

In addition to them, the TOP-10 of brands in terms of passenger car fleet volume also included: Renault (2.07 million units), Volkswagen (1.77 million units), Chevrolet (1.70 million units), Ford (1.38 million units) and Mitsubishi (1.23 million units). Agency experts noted that the top-10 of leading brands include 73% of the Russian passenger car fleet. At the same time, each of the remaining brands has less than 1 million cars registered in our country.
