Used car market decreased by 4% in February

In February 2021, the residents of our country bought 390 thousand used cars. As experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" reported, this is lower by 4.3% than the result of a year ago. According to the agency, the domestic brand LADA remained the leader of the secondary market in the previous winter month. So, in February, Russians purchased about 95 thousand of these used cars - lower by 3.7 than a year ago.

The second most popular place is kept by Toyota (44.7 thousand units; -1.9%), which is more than two times behind the leader. The third position is occupied by another Japanese brand Nissan (22 thousand units; -5.9%). Korean Hyundai (22 thousand units; -3.3) and KIA (20.4 thousand units; -1.6%) lag behind the top three.

Experts noted that by the results of two months of this year, the secondary market is also “in the red”. During this time, 755.2 thousand used cars found owners – lower by 2.4% than in January-February 2020.
